Future Events One Piece Film BaaD - 2029 A different approach.

I saw all the cool ideas, trying to guess what this movie could be about, using the name BaaD. And I really liked some of them.

For this thread I am trying to find a different approach, using the release date instead, "2029."

Since Eichiro Oda is also a fan of the Terminator, I remembered that the Year 2029 played a crucial role in the 1984 Terminator timeline.

That's when the human resistance led by John Connor finally defeated Sky Net in their decisive battle.

Since many people thought that it could be a Void Century-related movie. What if the "Final War" starts in 2029 in the Manga? And this movie could show us the past War in cinematic action. Maybe something like ancient tech is going to revolt and turn against their inventors ? I know sounds very scifi-like.

Then again, we also had that 3000-year-old robotic facility in Elbaf. Could it be a Movie way before the Void Century instead ?

A War against the Machines. Or maybe with them, as Allies.

Just some spontaneous thoughts of mine that I've wanted to write down, before I forget them again. Any additional ideas are welcome.

It's as plausible as anything, I guess. There could be more robots like Emet still hidden away around the world. And we know that objects can eat Devil Fruits. So, these robots even COULD have Devil Fruit powers. So, that's a big enough threat for a movie.

Hey! Maybe that'd be a fun way for Luffy to meet and/or fight the "original" Joyboy or Nika, in a way. Have a robot-Joyboy be our bad guy! That might even be enough to explain the "BaaD" in the title. Joyboy himself probably can't still be alive, since Luffy has the Nika Fruit. But if you could just make robot duplicates of yourself back during the days of the Ancient Kingdom, I could see Joyboy thinking that's a hoot. I could even see Joyboy using robot duplicates as body doubles as part of his distraction plans, since he does seem to be more of a "planner" than Luffy is. Maybe one of these hypothetical robot duplicates starts glitching and attacks the current user of the Nika Fruit, Luffy.

Or, y'know, even doing a more straight-up homage to Terminator could be on the table. The Bad Timeline is a thing. So, maybe someone from that future sends a robot to the past to stop or guarantee that future from happening. Or, hey, go crazy with it! Have two robots BOTH being sent from the Good and Bad Timelines at the same time! Then the two different robots can fight it out with each other, with the present-day Strawhats caught in the middle! Good Future Franky sending a robot to fight Bad Future Franky's robot. That would be fun! It'd be more Terminator 2 than the original Terminator, but I'd be okay with that.

So, yeah, there are things you could do with the idea. I don't know if Oda is SUCH a big Terminator fan that he'd make sure to do a movie in 2029, just so he could do some fun Terminator homages. But, there are different ways you could go with the idea.

The most convincing explanation I've come across so far, from a native Japanese, is that "Bee-Ah-Ah-Dh" is how a little child would say "Beard". So this could simply be BB's backstory movie, from him escaping God Valley with his Mom, to his planning his revenge on the WG, and joining WB's crew.

That being said, the title of this thread, "A Different Approach", immediately made me think of Oda's use of different timelines, even in SBS. I wouldn't mind if, by the time we get to Laugh Tale in the manga, this 2029 film were to show us an alternative timeline in which the PK race was won differently, or not by the SHs at all.

Maybe Baad will be a movie about mihawk or dragon or imu or joyboy. I think will be movie about imu and joy boy. Because until 2029 one piece will give us many hype. With this hype will be explain many things from 2026-2029 thats can't be explained good in Manga or anime. Already one piece it has many "mysteries" we don't know yet. Maybe is time to explain some of this things they alredy should've been explained long time ago. But they didn't yet.
