Powers & Abilities Why did Big Mom's Homies not disappear after her Defeat/Death?

We saw it with both Moriah and Sugar. After their defeat both the Shadows that Moriah stole and used went back to their original owners. and the people who became toys by Sugar were turned back to normal. So why didn't the same thing happen with the Homies after Big Mom fell into the lava?

Some DF effects last even after the user’s death. Prime example is Hancock, people she petrified do not turn back to normal after she dies.
Better example? Law. Immortality surgery takes the life of the Ope Ope no Mi user, but the surgery doesn’t get undone.

It's possible she gave certain ones particularly long lifespans. She took people's souls to feed her own, and she used her own soul to produce Homies and the ones closest to her were given significant amounts of it.

Those significant amounts might relate to a set amount of days/months/years before their lifespan expires. This is just a guess.

Because they are given life through soul not just devil fruit ability, they should be treated as their own living entities rather than extensions of someones fruit or to the life of the person that birthed them. Even so what do we say about immortality surgery, the caster dies after using it and the effect of immortality remains.

That's your personal motivation to say that's the simplest explanation. It's not. It requires a complicated scenario where Big Mom and Kaido suddenly wandered around and decided to take their time recovering just to appear and do... What?
Homies are subordinates to Big Mom, if she dies, they die too.

If they are alive, the simplest explanation is that Big Mom is alive

The simplest explanation to whether Big Mom is dead or not is SHE IS DEAD.

Saying she's alive means you assume she survived being submerged in magma and then reappeared and started hiding. That is complicated as hell. It's definitely not the simplest explanation.

Your idea relies on the belief that there is a rule that says if Big Mom dies her Homies also die. There's no actual rule about that and your argument heavily relies on it.

Cause dfs are mAdE fRoM dReAmS. So I guess some dumbasses dreamt up dumb conditions to their dreams like being knocked out means the power deactivates. While others were not dumb enough to set such limitations.

Or maybe the dreams were balanced by some outside force, like a monkey's paw

The abilities work differently

Sugar and Moriah transformed one thing onto another akin to a curse Sugar getting knocked out broke the curse and turned them back to normal

Big moms ability works differently she didn't transform one thing into another thing she took a living soul and put it into something to bring it to life

That portion of soul is now separate from its original body and is technically a completely new entity with its own perspective and memories has far has we know non of the homies have memories of when the soul that powers them was in someone else

Think of it like this

If your grandparents die would all their children and grandchildren just disappear?

Kanjuro's monster too didn't disappear.

It's not a rule.
