Definitely not. If Imu is defeated, even killed, the other four Gorosei go with him, and the Holy Knights lose their powers, and him gone before we even learn about the truth of Void Century is quite far-fetched.

No, I can't forsee a true defeat. More then likely, the pendulum shifts in his favor, but he expends too much energy and his illness catches up to him.

Because that's also what we need to remember. This isn't even his true strength, saved for Round Two at Mariejois.
I'd like to believe that, but, you know how Oda is.

With that logic Imu should‘ve have proportionally leveled up too.

Basic Imu > everyone by his own, let‘s assume everyone else together (exaggerated) > basic Imu, hence the next step should be Imu‘s second form > everyone else together.

Instead we have them together performing > Imu‘s second form. And this is before Luffy‘s looming powerup and Loki‘s hybrid…
Second round is much harder fight even if the opponent fighting better .
In this case Imu went into second form to kill a one arm Gaban and unheal luffy .
But his second form is not enough to just over power both loki and luffy together easy.
I still expect he will do better in upcoming chapters but Oda want to use this chapter to show off both luffy and loki fighting Imu togther .
I mean the fact that luffy still fighting to this level after what happen should throw logic out the window .

Of course. I live each chapters like an episode. I created multiple playlist allowing me to have multiple types of One Piece ambiances (Apocalyptic, heroic, mythical etc.) and after 20 years, I'm able to predict and switch music quite effectively making my experience so cinematic.

Reading One Piece in silence is impossible to me. I need the full experience.

If Imu targetted the tree instead and said he wanted everyone to either join him or die, he could force everybody's hand by setting it on fire even worse than Loki did before.

Assuming he could do such a thing...

It's just a big tree, after all. It's flammable. Burning down Elbaf could be a good choice narratively, if it's done right. Then Imu can win, everyone can be mad about it, and we're back on track with Loki explaining where Shanks is and we're off to Laugh Tale or something.

This is a really interesting point. All Imu needs to do to destroy the country is just set the tree on fire.

Huh... Zaza could come into play in a situation like that. I still think Sanji is going to end up winning Zaza over.

Yeah, this is a good post, I think Yggdrasil is going to get set on fire. Ain't no way Imu doesn't have a fire blade, and his Maki seems to be able to start flames... I think?

Point is there's no way Imu doesn't have some large range fire attack after all the other toys he has in the toolbox.

Can Ragnir... freeze fire??? Huh...

I couldn't even remember that the "goddess" of rain was still in play.
The setups in this arc are so half-assed.
Kids got kidnapped so many times even the Straw Hats are just standing around not giving a shit, LOL

Post Time Skip pacing is something special

I keep forgetting we had a fucking Brook flashback in the middle of this

Last month I literally forgot Dragon was a character in this manga

But yeah, let's think logically. If Imu actually has to run away with Luffy and Loki on the upswing of the fight...then there's no point for Mariejois. Sure, he'll be stronger there, but then so will Luffy.

And if he's somehow killed...then who's taking control of the WG in time for the big war? Garling?

That whole tuberculosis thing he has is what's important. The fight will assuredly end with Imu on the upswing of said fight just as it takes effect and he has to go.
