Mate, not sure what is hard to understand about eras. If 2 bounties are updated in the same era, they are valid for comparison.
The Yonko Saga just updated them to a whole other level.
See Jinbe for example.
Frozen Jinbe -> 250 mill
DR Era Jinbe -> 438 mill
Yonko Saga Jinbe -> 1.1 bill
It's not like he got a powerup either like Zoro/Sanji. Not like he needed it for WW anyhow.

& whats your point exactly he basically killed him 2/3 times they fought, saved the first time by robin from being stabbed and left to be buried in the sand, then was dried to a prune and was saved by s single droplet of water that he randomly shot into the air. plot convenience.....
but we forget about that, meanwhile croc literally gave him a timer to just toy around and the 3rd round luffy randomly had a perfect counter from blood but somehow that blood wasnt stuck with sand....

1 fought the WSM survived and only lost a hand, the other was WSC bitch and errand boy.... literally stated to law about him losing smiles and how he was afraid of Kaido....
ran you mean when he took over to Alabasta as the hero to find Pluton.... he went there for one reason and that was explained in the manga and anime.

Mmm more than that, I think he didnt know back then how the stroy will progress and how far the bounties will get.
Back then, we used to think thay 1 billion was gonna be the bounty of a Yonko.
Now, Oda has pretty much established the range of his bounty system.
Commanders from 800 million to 2 million
Yonko from 4 Billion to 5 billion.
Legendary Pirate or PK from 5 billion above.
Etc
So now, those bounties that seemed very low, or high at the moment should get updated and a way to help is with hype.
Warlords are silver medalists, world power, etc, etc.
Crocodile, even though he was defeated to early, his hype is already settled. Logia fruits have always been hyped.
