On the cover page, we see King...training tanuki in the art of pantyhose sumo. What King chooses to do in his spare time is up to him! BUT WHAT DOES IT MEAN?! Well...um...eh...tanuki are classically tricksters and illusionists. There's...four tanuki in this picture. There are...four elements? Maybe the four Road Poneglyphs? Maybe...the Road Poneglyphs are a "trick"? Eh, probably not. Maybe, sometimes, a man just wants to put his whole face inside a woman's stocking and we shouldn't judge him for that? Oda...*AHEM*...I mean "King" can do whatever he likes!
The Treasure Tree is really taking a lot of damage, recently. I do feel like this is setting up that the Treasure Tree will fall...eventually. Probably not this arc. But, I do still believe that Yggdrasil will fall, probably around the same time as the Walls of Wano fall, and Fishman Island is destroyed. All according to plan.
Luffy can actually tell that Imu has healing abilities. Just like him, really. Luffy does at least have some battle sense, even though he doesn't have a lot of common sense.
Loki goes into his Hybrid Form...just as Luffy runs out of gas. And Loki's still in silhouette. C'MON, ODA! What are we waiting for, here?!
But, apparently, Usopp has a plan! What could it be? C'MON, ODA! I'm gonna guess...he's going to start to insult Luffy, in order to give him the motivation to keep fighting. Or maybe Usopp could pull out HIS 1000 Ton Hammer in order to trick Imu and backup Loki? Or maybe it's a lot simpler than that, and Usopp's plan was just to bring Luffy some backup food? Maybe that's what Luffy's "HM" was about? I mean, Usopp DOES have a bunch of fast-growing plant seeds in his pockets. I guess we'll see later.
And Shuri wakes up! And...we'll have to wait until later to see what that means or "who" she wakes up as. C'MON, ODA! Focus on ONE PLOT at at time, I BEG YOU!
Over at the Owl Library, Biblo's led the others to a treasure chest with a "letter and a tool" inside from Biblo's grandpa. And inside is...something we'll have to wait to see until later. C'MON, ODA! You're doing this on purpose, but it's still really annoying! Okay, well...since Biblo is older than anyone can remember, this means that "Grampa Owl" would HAVE to be at least from the Void Century. If not earlier. I could easily see Grampa Owl being from the First Age of Nika. So, who knows if even Robin could read whatever language the letter is in. The letter might be in the same language as the Poneglyph etchings? As for the "tool"? Hmm...there's not enough information to really speculate accurately. But, it's probably something really high tech. Maybe it's like a force field generator? Or...maybe it's a translation device so that EVERYONE will be able to understand Biblo, as he tells us his backstory? Although, first of all, it looks like they need a key to open up the Treasure Chest, so...I guess that'll be it's own mini-sidequest for the next couple of chapters?
Over where Zaza and Sanji are, Jarul is busy defending Harald's choices. The thing is...we kinda know Harald was wrong to trust the World Government. But...his heart was in the right place. Not so much his brain, but oh well. The problem with Jarul's argument is that Giants are STILL pretty much hated and feared around the world, it's just as soldiers for the World Government.
Dory and Brogy are here as backup to help try and save the kids. So, I guess Sanji WON'T have to deal with trying not to fight a giant lady. That's going to be the other Giants' job. Meanwhile, Sanji lands a pretty solid kick on Killingham (right in the heart-area, too)...and then we cut away, again. C'MON, ODA!
Meanwhile, Sommers is so bored that he's just firing off blasts for fun. And Zoro's trapped inside a nest of thorns! How will Zoro get out of this one? Well...with the power of SWORDS, of course! What else would Zoro do? And we find out what the key to killing the God's Knights are. You have to use Conqueror's Haki to attack their Steel Hearts! So...I guess all of them just have those? It wasn't just something special to Sommers. Nice to have that more or less confirmed. I wonder how that works? I guess your heart just...turns to metal when you make a contract with Imu? We never saw Harald get a "operation" or anything.
Apparently, Gram's blade grows with the weilder's fury. So, some of these 19 swords DO seem to have unique powers.
Anyway, Zoro tries out trying to coat his sword with Conquerors...and doesn't QUITE manage it. But, he manages to knick Sommers' heart. So, he's got accuracy, down. He just needs to figure out this whole Conquorer's Coating thing. Zoro's close enough to freak out Sommers. THERE YOU GO, ODA! Fair's fair, that's a pretty nice moment in this chapter. The tide is turning a bit...again.
Oda's really stringing us along with some of these plotlines. Which IS a little frustrating. But, I can't say I'm not interested to see where this all goes.
