Yahagi had a reputation as good eye for talent, and Kishimoto was a project that paid off big.

They spent 10 years together on Naruto. Yahagi was probably eager to move up the corporate ladder, and I don’t doubt Kishimoto wanted to test himself artistically.

Dragon Ball could be seen as very simplistic, I even called it simplist in the past, but I changed my mind over the years. There is something just special within the simplicity of the writing that can't really be reproduced.
