I loved OG the most it means something to me man. I used to be like 8-9 yrs old absolutely OBSESSED with collecting Ben 10 toys from places near my house in the Bronx. Like Prizebuster. Those $10 Ben 10 toys were like the highlight of my month and I would watch episodes over and over on Cartoonnetwork Video which sometimes had episodes cuz I didn’t have cable. I liked Alien Force too and actually had like 2 Alien Force DS games one that covered the Highbreed arc and one that covered Vilgax’s comeback by the time I was in the end of middle school. Never truly saw Ultimate Alien and Omniverse till I saw Kuro the Artists videos. So yeah I’m a larp.
By the time I got Cartoonnetwork and cable it was all Teen Titans Go bullshyt

First, One piece is a pirate focus
So pirates are generally popular
And Yonko in general are build upto be like end boss for Luffy and that Luffy need to surpassed them to become PK.
The build up so fking long(ever since pre-skip) and the constant hype given to Yonko on the process is enough to be popular.

If anything it's Whitebeard that make Yonko popular and sets the bar high up.
He's the first to showcase his strength.....
As a Yonko, if he look very bad and weak, the Yonko hype dies before it even started.
Basically entire buildup of Marineford and how Oda like to show military power needed to fight 1 Yonko, that alone would be enough to give strong impression on readers especially new reader on regards to Yonko.
Shanks is just that popular, without being Yonko or not.
