I know which i personally don't like. I just never considered Sommers to be it only because of how oda portrayed him. But I see your point. Because what was the purpose of the two imu buffs if its still looking like a low diff

Sommers being such a bum even before Zoro mastered COC doesn't really make Zoro look good since Sommers genuinely looking weaker than YC1s like King and Lucci, he just happens to have regen.
Showing Sommers being competitive then having him get washed once Zoro masters COC would have better to show how big of a PU it is.
Zoro fans will claim Omen Sommer is top tier of course but good luck convincing anyone else he is above opponents from arcs ago

The thing is Oda DID do that but he only did it once

The initial clash between Sommers and Zoro was the talk of the town because of the hype behind Dragon Damnation

When Sommers not only clashed with it but OVERPOWERED Zoro that surprised everyone and made a lot of people start respecting Sommers

Now we have… this. It’s like, where did all of that hype go?

It feels like he wanted to make Sommers a credible opponent that Zoro could take pride in beating but it just isn’t like that anymore
