I’ll cut Ndule some slack at least

As a Luffy fan it does kinda leave a sour taste in my mouth that Zoro/Sanji didn’t really have to struggle pretty much at all to pick up ACoC in comparison

Luffy awakened the basic version and spent 2 years learning how to utilize it properly. So when we finally see him unlock ACoC (after finding out it exists at all) it feels like a given

Then Zoro finds out he has conqueror’s haki (or doesn’t actually, lol) and coats his attacks with it all in the same night

Now Sanji will likely do the same

It would’ve been significantly better imo if Oda had them awaken the basic version in whatever arc before Wano and Elbaf to properly lead up to them coating their attacks

Because then they’d still have less experience with conqueror’s haki than Luffy but you could at least make the argument that the knowledge that coating even exists gives them a big enough bump to get them over the hill

Just my 2 cents
Yeah but imo Luffys only issue was he didn’t know it was possible. The second he did, he accomplished it (sure slightly crudely at first, but then way stronger after he ate food) Zoro found out it was possible but couldn’t figure out how it was done. He had to try and fail for the entire fight with Sommers.

Let alone Zoro and Sanji couldn’t even really awaken their CoC without intervention, but Luffy could.

I think Zoro and Sanjis struggles being so focused show just how talented at CoC Luffy was.

I’m not disagreeing with the idea that a knowledge difference is a big deal. That’s why I said that even with them having far less experience in my scenario (a month at best vs 2+ years) you could easily explain them closing the gap with the fact that they know coating is even possible

But there’s a big difference between having basic conqueror’s for 5 minutes and unlocking CoC coating vs having basic conqueror’s for a month and unlocking CoC coating

Still iffy (arguably) in either scenario but there’s quite a bit more justification for one than the other

The biggest problem is that Oda didn't came up with this idea during the timeskipp and that's why Rayleigh didn't tell Luffy about aCoC.

I think oda set this up well enough when he said CoC can’t be trained, something that’s been said since pre timeskip. As such there’s really no reason to hold back on giving infusion once people know that it’s possible and figure out how to use CoC.

I get it feels rushed, but I think of all questionable writing choices post timeskip, this one’s the most set up at least.

Its training to control their conquers haki like what luffy had to do during the time skip.

They both skip this step and go to complete mastery
They didn’t skip this step. That’s the step they’re on. Conscious control of CoC is what they are trying to learn in the first place.

That’s why Luffy was able to do it the second he learned it existed. The problem is the fandom calling it advanced CoC when it’s not.

Kaido's 28 year old daughter figured out how to use ACOC despite being isolated from the entire world, but 48 year old Katakuri, who officially was a high ranking member of the crew and lived to see the legends of the verse in action never figured out he could use COC for attacks. OPtards will pretend that there's anything more to it than Yamato being introduced in the story after Oda decided it was a thing lmfao

True, even Doflamingo should have it.
