Controversial Part 1 should have taken place over the course of a year.

According to many Part 1 of One Piece takes place over the course of only a few months. But that has always felt too short. Especially with everything that happened and in such quick succession. I feel it would have been better if Part One had taken place over a year. It would give the World time to breath between events and Characters to grow more naturally.
