Spoiler One Piece Chapter Spoiler 1196 Spoilers Discussion

Personally, I think it’s still too early for Sanji to get Conqueror’s Haki and immediately learn how to use it. Don’t you think that’s a bit too much? Take Zoro, for instance—he awakened his Conqueror’s Haki in Wano but didn't master it until an arc later. In my opinion, the best scenario would be for Sanji to awaken Conqueror’s Haki right now but remain unable to use it in battle (at least for this arc). It would be much cooler if Zoro rushed in to help Sanji finish off Killingham.
And it would be 1,000 times cooler if Shamrock arrived right after that, sparking a proper, full-scale fight for Zoro, instead of that disappointment we got with Sommers.

Elbaph has been the most inconsistent arc and by far the worst reading experience in all of OP

It’s clearer than ever that Oda is making it up as he goes, trying to cram everything (including things he just thought of) in one arc
The writing is in decline, every major arc is worse than the one that came before it.

This is all because Shonen jump are giving him too much creative freedom, all successful stories are successful because of the backing of good editors.

I think Zoro should have fought Shamrock (especially since he has the Cerberus sword—3 dog heads against the 3-sword style) + Shamrock poses at least some threat, unlike Sommers and Killingham.

Sanji could have fought Sommers, because at the beginning of the arc he talked about love, and that would be a perfect opportunity to explore the theme of Sanji's "power of love." Plus, he could counter Sommers' spikes with his fire.

And Killingham should have gone to Usopp. It would have been the perfect fight for him. Throughout the battle, Killingham could have brought out all of Usopp's fears, and Usopp would gradually overcome them, finally becoming a brave warrior of the sea (maybe even awakening Conqueror's Haki). This would be the best upgrade for Usopp, and right in the Elbaf arc.

It is such a shame that Oda decided to give Killingham to Sanji when there was such a great opportunity to develop and power up Usopp.

Sanji vs Killingham is Oda's worst decision in this arc.

Sanji has already been fleshed out 200%, it's time to give other characters some character development.

If Obe piece still does well weekly where Oda’s writing hasn’t been questioned, it means the rest of the manga in WSJ is so ass and not even worth checking out if THIS is their best. Smh, modern media and literacy is cooked and it’s all because the boomer producers and authors are still holding the rains, when will that generation just die and leave us alone?

Truth supernova

The current quality of One Piece is very similar to that of Fairy Tail during its mid-run. The only difference is OP has a more interesting aesthetic, but the narrative quality is the same. Imu even has the same personality as Acnologia, "very charismatic."
That’s the thing, most manga artists are just that artist, they haven’t studied storytelling but they’re exactly like you and I, which is why editors are important
