Sanji got the exoskeleton because he is the shield of the pirate king, but even the best shield will shatter if it takes too much. This is what Oda is trying to tell us here. There is a fine line between protecting and sacrificing, and Sanji is teetering on this line. The exoskeleton should be used for a purpose and that purpose should not involve Sanji needlessly throwing away his life. Also, just because Sanji has been taking hits that are avoidable doesn't mean every hit he's ever taken has been avoidable.

Jeez, I feel like nuance is really lost on a lot of you. I saw similar thoughts being tossed around on other forums, people like to point out contradictions that aren't necessarily valid.

? He literally still going to get hit the next major fight he in. He still has good durability plus speed. Kaido has FS and good durability.
