Admirals have some of the most shit tier portrayal in manga for "Top Tiers" in a sense that if they are Top Tiers then people like Xebec or Roger or Shanks must be at least God Tiers but with Zoro taking out YC1s for his dinner, Shanks destroying a YC1 level character and his entire crew in a single hit, Kaido one shotting a YC1 level character, Saturn beating a YC1 level character with his eye powers alone, Admiral fans think they belong in the team too.
Lets not get carried away, Admirals are Glorified commanders and it has been shown again and again in manga and anime.
For Starters here is Oda confirming Marco is equal to Admirals in One Piece Databook Blue Deep: Characters World written by Oda himself
And his portrayal in War clearly shows that.
Marco was tanking Admiral's Strongest Signature Attacks and laughing at him
And then Rag Dolls two admirals back to back, literally treats them like Pele Treating a Soccer Ball
First he Trashes Kizaru
Then he trashes Aokiji and not just that he overpowers his Haki too breaking his Haki coated weapon. Unless Aokiji is retarded enough to fight without Haki against Whitebeard.
And this isn't some Mihawk vs Vista Jozu situation where he was just throwing random nameless slashes and not worrying about any outcome.
Admirals were trying their best.
Kizaru is so desperate, he
-Attacks Marco from behind
-Relies on Sea Stone Cuffs
-Takes Onigumo's Help
And this desperation of Admirals against YC1 level characters continue.
Green Bull relies on completely mentally and physically broken condition to defeat King.
We just learned in latest chapter how much emotions can play a role in a fight
Zoro just mutlilated and humiliated King
King who hides his face behind Mask has been exposed by Zoro
And Zoro brutally damaged King as well
Marco is perfect example of what happens when fresh YC1 faces commanders.
