After this arc impossible to hide than there are too many similitud than Sanji and Saint Shanks. And this doesn't happen to Luffy, Zoro, Mihawk, Rayleigh, or Roger. So Saint Shanks, the strongest Yonko, the golden boy, "haki like joyboy" was always a "Sanjino," a number four from mugis, someone who isn't to someone who isn't much stronger than Aramaki or Laffite

Because that flashback took place some time after Shanks had accepted his family's nature. But when he initially contacted MJ and saw firsthand how the CDs behave and what mentality Garling and Shamrock share, Shanks' inner monologue could've been similar to Sanji's -- I need to do this for the sake of the world, but I must be careful to not lose myself in the process and become like them. And when be next was made to pledge allegiance to IMU and get the mark, he must have been freaking out deep down.
