Old legends will generally lose to most top-tiers.
The thing with old legends is that they lose, but they always get insane glaze in the process.

This doesn't necessarily mean they're far stronger in their primes however, at least to me. Because we've seen prime versions of several old legends in flashbacks and frankly, very little they've done seems to put them massively above their older selves except in terms of stamina.

On top of which Oda himself has admitted that making old people not lose strength is one of the fantasies he wants to realize with OP, so this whole narrative of "Prime X DESTROYS someone his old version went toe-to-toe with" is dubious to me.

That’s what I took from it. The “not feeling pain” bit could be related to Germa, I didn’t take him saying he’s not a product of science literally.
Nah what Sanji has now is a direct upgrade. Saying he’d be able to smash bullets and not feel pain, that’s a callback to his exoskeleton awakening where he got shit and it hurt.

Odas saying Sanjis evolved beyond it

Sorry and with all due respect, That's just stupid
The germa shit is also part of him and he acknowledged the power up in wano.
If that was the case Sanji wouldn't have destroyed the raid suit and completed the modification..
Germa's Exoskeleton only lead to heartlessness, that's why Sanji unconsciously reached to his own Exoskeleton, whether CoC was required for that or not i don't know..

Yeah I think he just has absurd CoA on top of his exoskeleton, and ACoC. Take that as a win. I think he still has regen as well. It’s not clear though.
