Chapter Discussion One Piece Chapter 1197: Love is Defense

Nika embodied everything necessary to be top 1. He had power, had will, had a sword, and a shield.
But was ultimately alone.

Luffy has someone else's fruit, someone else's will, Zoro as a sword, Sanji as a shield, and the rest of the SHs for whatever other needs he has.
Luffy will triumph because he doesn't do everything himself (on paper), instead trusting others to help him.
The "power of friendship" is what will make him PK.

Zoro is Luffy's sword.

Just as Sanji is his shield.

By EOS, Zoro will be able to cut anything, and Sanji to block anything.

Nika is shown with sword and shield.

Zoro is the quintessence swordsman, growing extra swords out of nowhere.

Sanji is developing an indestructible exoskeleton.

Luffy's entire character arc during the first half of the story is him realizing that he needs his nakama to accomplish his dream. Emphasis is put during the latter half on Luffy's wings.

Brainless fans: "Nope, the SHs have no role to play, hurr-durr."

I think Zoro & Sanji will be equal in their level, but not in their power? Does that make any sense?

Zoro is Luffy's sword; Sanji is Luffy's shield. They're both PK wings, but one will be able to cut anything, while the other will be able to stop any attack. So, EOS, Sanji may not be able to defeat an opponent that Zoro defeats, but that opponent won't be able to put Sanji down either?

Will new fluid Flames have new color?

It may not be an entirely new flame type but a representation of ACoA tbh.

Wait a sec. This does align more with the look of ACoA than any kind of flame. And this is exactly the panel where Sanji is talking about his newfound overwhelming level of armament haki.

It really looks like he unlocked ACoA, not some entirely new type of flame. I'm not sure Ifrit got actually replaced.

[Shikoku]

did we read the same chapter? lol
Eyebrow flip Sanji is exo/germa Sanji that much was very obvious from the narration in the chapter which I think is also an indication of where Sanji’s been at mentally. However Sanji’s sense of self was able to overcome even that this chapter hence the counter flip. Sanji was finally able to accept himself as a whole this chapter.

Wings of Pirate King :

[Sir Yasheen]

Oda showed that Sanji has evolved past the exoskeleton.
Exoskeleton could break the spear while attacking and allow him to tank bullets
But the Power of Love could break the spear while Defending and shatter bullets on contact

Bye bye Germa Genes
