They’re gonna get stalled for the rest of the arc by having to chase down the fleeing HKs. If they’re lucky, Oda might have both of them come in to bail out Luffy when his Great Ape mode runs out, but Oda’s more likely to give that moment to Usopp tbh. And then the Biblo plot device will expel Imu from Elbaf

My theories have had Teach coming to Elbaph to fight Imu.

Imagine Imu gets knocked back into Marijoa, and we see Blackbeard fight Imu in the Holy Land??? Oh yeahhhhhhhh.

I think Teach or at least some Blackbeard Pirates will invade Marijoa for the Straw Hat, Xebec's Saber, and York.

I do appreciate that this chapter seems to be progressing things quite a bit. Sucks that Loki's fight was cut short but he had the most panels facing Imu at the start so I just hope what we got of his hybrid was great. Luffy can do well against Imu until the Shuri and Lily stuff opens up the path to sending Imu back. I hope Oda doesn't drag this all out a bunch of chapters. I'm looking forward to the aftermath of Elbaph like what happened at the Holy Land.

We already had luffy keep his powers when he was submerged in water in arlong park

Devil Fruit powers remain in effect in water, it's that they lose control of their bodies themselves.

Another example of this is Oven sticking his hands in the water to heat it up, and being able to do so without problem since only his hands, a small part of him, were submerged.

There has to come a point where you realize Akainu, even the wanked Akainu that exists in your mind, can't possibly do shit to a Luffy that is going toe to toe with an Imu that just one shotted Loki. Like, the bum was getting worked by terminal aids + 1000 years old Whitebeard barely two years ago.
