I mean if his life is in danger I would assume he stops the Frieza shit and just gets to business with his strongest mode.
In essence what Im saying is simple.

Imu the more power he exerts the faste his body deteriorates. He exerted more power against Hybrid Loki than against anyone else and thus is closer to his time limit and must go back to MJ as he recognizes that his life is in danger now.
TLDR of what I think is going on.

The official made Sommers statement even more pressing. And he says that even if they force things maybe hes implying that even if Imu were to try to use more of his power that he will run out of time faster or something idk. Its a bit of a conjecture at this point from me. I just think it would explain why Imu didnt go into his higher forms from the start against Loki even though he was suffering from whatever curse he has.

And this chapter heavily points towards it with Imu saiyng that his life is in danger if he doesnt go back to MJ, that he was pushed to his limits to finish off Loki while at the same time seemingly looking fine I assume in form 3. It all goes back to what I said, his power and himself deteriorate rapidly the more he uses of it outside of Mary Joie.

Theory almost proven as far as Im concerned. I hope you enjoy the read lol.

Yes I think Oda introduced him like this and giga nerfed him exactly to take him out of the picture until EOS. Wether BB kills him by then or not is another story.
Pretty much. Its just so Imu can't intervene directly into any other arc and completely flip the table at some random point. Lol. After this he will definitely be at least out of commission for a while, so Oda can write without having to account for him pulling up.

As far as BB goes, there will 100% be a confrontation, just I highly doubt it will be soon. I've said this before, but in order for BB to take advantage of him being weakened post-Elbaf like some want, he would have had to write BB extremely out of character and launching an all or nothing final assault on Marie Jois......BEFORE the events of Elbaf even started. Despite BB having multiple plot threads that make more sense for him to be following up on, like using Garp as leverage to NEGOTIATE with the WG (like he wanted to do with Koby) or to hunt down the Ancient Weapons (which he was literally just about to learn about last time we saw him). It just doesn't make any sense for him to rush like that, with no way of knowing Imu would be vulnerable.

And even when their confrontation inevitably happens, I highly doubt it will be before other people have had a chance at Imu first, to wear him down (in true BB fashion). Also also, I don't believe for one second thwt Oda won't use the Empty Throne and the throne room itself as a set piece for at least the BEGINNING of a fight. Seriously, if you really think about it, does anyone believe that Oda would miss the chance to have Luffy barge into the throne room with Imu sitting atop it?

All good points.
