I did not think that Oda would go that far as Imu's 3rd form really is gigantic, but I always thought that he would go that route earlier or later.

Ice age ocean freeze, Banaro Island, quake tsunamis, Fuji's rubble lift, King Kong Gun, PH terraforming, those logia avatar forms, Kaido's island lift & flame dragon torch...

I think a lot of the final saga battles will need island wide areas in order to take place, cause of the sheer destruction scale and Imu takes this to an entirely different lvl.

This is a really good point actually, Killingham reacted a few moments prior to us seing third form hmm. @Kurozumi Wiwi @Sentinel @kekaro @TheD.
That's how I see it
Though It's odd Loki doesn't comment on Imu new form , cause it's such massive change from his first and Second lol. Killingham could also comment because we do see Imu releasing a huge burst of haki.
It doesn't really matter to me either way, implication is that Hybrid Loki was too tough to be taken down by second form Imu (as Imu did not transform for aura farm sake, he complaint about having to use this much power)

Loki made 0 comments on Form 2 tbf.

The same thing happened when he transformed into Form 2, he released a huge burst of Haki.

Indeed but this does change things a bit though. It means he Loki didnt physically push Form 3 to the limit but rather the act of using Form 3 brought Imu to the brink.
