It depends on how he will go down, if he goes down to Blackbeard but foul play was afoot then even if Luffy beats Blackbeard It can be argued that Shanks is still stronger when he fights Akainu. To me Shanks defeats Akainu extreme diff or the other way around. No lesser.

But I cant deny how much Oda dickrides Shanks, I understand that you gotta fight for the agenda but surely you can see it too right? How he treats him. How he never has him look bad?

I think Saint Shanks is evil. That is the only way Oda can make his character even remotely interesting.
But regardless, the problem is that Oda dick rides the Admirals the hardest out of any other top tier group, people just don’t see it the way I do yet though it is starting to become clear. You can’t beat the Admirals in a fight, they aren’t designed to lose.

While Oda goes out of his way to protect the image of the admirals with excuses at the ready when they dont perform to expectations he has Shanks do hype shit every time he shows up. He even had an Admiral look like a dumbass (I mean GB had snot coming out of his nose lol) for the sake of wanking Shanks.
