ZenZuNone of the fights mentioned above would come close, but it reminded me Shanks vs Blackbeard would be massive as well, it would have a shot but only issue is it will be off panelled for the most part.
Monster Zoro's Tesla SupplierI don't see why not, the three I mentioned have been hinted towards and hyped for over two decades now iirc. Not to mention there seems to be way more One Piece fans than JJK fans (and One Piece it self is just a bigger, more influential and beloved animanga compared to JJK). It is totally possible for those fights to be more popular, even if Oda manages to screw them up somehow.
Monster Zoro's Tesla SupplierI thought you meant in general
But come to think of it it makes way more sense if you just meant in America
ShiroyruJJK also had more than twice as much sales worldwide in 2024 than OP did
Monster Zoro's Tesla SupplierThat's fucking crazy if true. But I honestly still believe that those fights are going to be bigger than Gojo vs Sukuna. They just mean so much more to the series itself and they've been awaited for so long, I can't see them not being absolutely huge when they finally do happen.
ShiroyruNah. Gojo vs Sukuna was hyped since the very start of the series. Gojo and Sukuna were both aura merchants from the get-go, with Gojo being the pseudo MC in terms of popularity and Sukuna being the main villain of the series
ShiroyruZoro may be very popular, but no one outside of hardcore OP fans gives a shit about Mihawk as a character. He’s done essentially nothing since Baratie and is little more than a goalpost for Zoro
ShiroyruBlackbeard isn’t nearly as prominent a villain as Sukuna. It also doesn’t help that the outcome of Luffy vs BB is very obvious. At least with Gojo vs Sukuna, it was believable that Gojo could win, but Sukuna could be bailed out by Kenjaku.
Monster Zoro's Tesla SupplierThe outcome doesn't matter. It's still one of the most anticipated moments in the entire series. If you think it's not going to gain a shit ton of traction then you're crazy bro
ShiroyruIt absolutely does lol. A fight is inherently more suspenseful (and therefore engaging) if the outcome of the fight isn’t clear. Everyone and their mom knows Luffy is gonna beat BB with some really big punch(es) after yapping about how important his nakama are
ShiroyruAlso, Gojo vs Sukuna was a really cool fight in part because of the more unique dynamic between the two. Gojo didn’t resent Sukuna and give fiery, passionate speeches about how he must defeat Sukuna at all costs, as is typical in Shonen.
Monster Zoro's Tesla SupplierAs stubborn as this may sound, I really don't believe you can change my mind on this topic lol.
Although I do respect your opinion and I see where you're coming from, but still.
ShiroyruWano and Egghead have completely destroyed my belief that the SHs can ever again have any actually suspenseful fights
