My only guess is that Oda wanted to demonstrate Zoro getting even at Lucci for owning him way back when

He should have had a serious fight with Kizaru instead or Momonga who should have come to Egghead. These new world VAs were a joke when they should have been a serious threat. Buster calls becoming bigger and bigger jokes too.
Zoro getting a former main villain and Luffy opponent that he defeated from pre TS really doesnt sit right for me. Doesnt help Oda hates drawing fights now too and he offscreened that shit

Both Ryo and Fuji would make amazing opponents for Zoro but I dont trust Oda at this point, he will probably fight and defeat one of them at best by the time the story is over but fuck man, I thought Oda did the VAs bad enough at Marineford and then post TS happened.
Im still fuming at how hes treating Smoker and Tashigi especially, not to mention

Even Zoro vs Nusjuro was such a fucking letdown too, Oda is actively trolling I swear. Or just really doesnt care. Just look at the situation with Loki atm too.
Its both a blessing and a curse that Mihawk barely is getting screentime, no fights and no named attacks yet too. Mihawks last feats are still back at Marineford like 15 years ago, sigh.

Now we got another "elite swordsman" in the Gorosei, so I dont know what to expect and then ANOTHER one at least in the Holy Knights with the Shamrock reveal. Sommers has a sword too and feels like a sort of discount Green Bull already in abilities but I still like him and his fruit and Killingham has a sword too apparently, but idk if Zoro will fight either of them at this point with Odas "unpredictability".
