Jew D. BoyBetter than yesterday, which is about all I can ask for right now. What about you, dawg?
CineraNah, no need to change your content on my behalf. Whether I follow you or not, you're still one of my favourite members on the forum. The follow feature just serves multiple functions that aren't complementary:
* Indicate respect/appreciation towards another member.
* Easily identify when people you follow are online.
Cinera* Keep track of all activity of everyone you follow.
* Restrict interactions with you (viewing your profile, posting on your profile, starting conversations with you, receiving your news feed, etc).
CineraFunction #3 is very important to me, but it is in constant conflict with functions #1 and #2. I basically rarely if ever use function #1 (I did follow back @Queen when she requested it, but it was a lone exception) and I only occasionally use function #2. I never use function #4 as I like to remain easily accessible.
CineraI'm glad your mood is improving. I'm actually not doing that well. I woke up in a pretty terrible mood because I logged in and saw I lost 60 likes. I noticed my post count had dropped and eventually figured out it was because my post in the spoiler thread had been deleted.
CineraUpon realising that the loss in likes was not because someone was still negging me (I know who it is, but wouldn't mention them in public), my unhappiness should have faded, but it didn't really.
Jew D. BoyI guess I don’t use those features enough to notice, but you’re right, a follow is more perfunctory among friends. Still, I appreciate the gesture!
CineraTalking to you is helping a bit, so thanks. 😊
Jew D. BoyI almost forgot about all the negging, that was pretty fucking savage and weird...what did you put in the spoiler thread?
CineraI don't like that I care way too much about my likes to the extent that losing likes has a noticeable effect on my mood. It's unhealthy.
Just the images from the spoiler blog. There was no problem with the deletion, I recommended that the mods merge all the images in the thread into one post and asked for mine and the others to be deleted (I only kept it up because it was the only complete set of images). I'm only surprised it gathered so many likes/they decided to delete it after it got so many likes.
Jew D. BoyI get it, the validation is cool and it’s a barometer of how you and your opinions are viewed around here. To see them stall or decrease can be a little upsetting, but it sucks that it’s hitting you harder than that 😕
Jew D. BoyHell, getting that many likes on one post is impressive in itself...I think I’ve topped out at 25 or so, and that was an early post in a spoiler thread for a consequential chapter (don’t remember which one).
Before I figured out what happened with the negging and just saw my likes free fall, I was semi seriously considering stopping with the forum. I don't think I would have gone through with it, but yeah.
Jew D. BoyListen, I’m not gonna advocate against doing what you feel will help improve your mental state...if taking another break does the trick, then that’s absolutely the right move. I’ll say that we all felt your absence when you were gone, but unless we’re on tolerance breaks of our own, most of us are gonna still be here anytime.
CineraThat would have been an overreaction I think. I should just stop paying so much attention to how many likes I have.
Jew D. BoyIf it’s any consolation, you’ve got more than pretty much everybody except, what, three other people here? Not too shabby, if you ask me 🤩
CineraFour others. It may have been three but I deleted 6K likes worth of posts and someone deducted 1.5K. I think I'll get to #4 before year end. It'll be a very memestatic moment.
