Enma does cause the user to generate unnecessarily large slashes when not tamed, but this is a nerf and not a boost. The slashes aren't slashes the user could not produce themselves, and they consume the user's haki to do so.

Exactly. Enma is not a power up BUT Zoro now > Zoro pre-Enma. Enma is a tool for growth, it "broke his ceiling" and gave him a reason to train.

Since Tengu said that blackening Enma will increase its grade, do you think Shusui was originally a Ryo Wazamono grade blade and Ryuma turned it into an O Wazamono when he blackened it?
