Oh yes thats a great point! I need to watch those older movies, they could foreshadow a lot of things given the story was only meant to be 5 years long. The first movie villain was a very strong, lion themed guy with a roar fruit IIRC? Kaidos predecessor too? Lol.

Now you mention it, we have the steampunk revolutionaries in One Piece, One Piece is a post apocalyptic world, Oda takes inspiration from many things
Kizaruber Eats
Kizaruber Eats
including Laputa Castle in the Sky which is a Steampunk film and Steampunk is what flying/airship pirates are all about too! Kidd and his crew are very Steampunk-like, Apoo calls his crew "On Air" pirates and he found an invisible road into the sky before, Van Der Decken had the flying pirates, Enel had a flying ship that went to the moon and he met those strange alien minks...

And you know the craziest part?
Kizaruber Eats
Kizaruber Eats
Lindbergh, the genius mink inventor of the Revolutionaries with his cryo tech IIRC, has exactly the same tech the weird people and minks on the moon have!

Those automatons and the stuff we see in the mural is pretty much steampunk stuff too!

The Celestial Dragons have the horizontal escalator thing, like airports have but with slaves powering it and what they do they push to make it work? Giant cogs!

Bullet's DF
Kizaruber Eats
Kizaruber Eats
was very steampunk-like in nature and thus engineering, mechanical and stuff and this ties into Franky bigtime too. And then theres Vegapunk with all his robot technology which is all cogs/gears and stuff ofc.

"In mechanical contexts, a cog refers to a single tooth on a gear, while a gear is the entire toothed wheel. The term "cog" is sometimes used interchangeably with "gear" in informal settings." Oh welp, you

learn something new everyday! I've felt One Piece is heavily inspired by Ghibli films including Laputa ofc but also Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke and the others, even if I'm not sure how yet, would need to research it or something.

What you saidabout the melodies, I think there were giant gears where Uta was on Elegia? it sounds familiar, another thing I might have to go research too. Have you seen that amazing
Kizaruber Eats
Kizaruber Eats
theory by @jinz on Uta and Gunko? That is relevant to what we are talking about too somewhat! Gunko has a steampunk type outfit too! Brook was summoned as the devil by mistake by that long arm long leg whatever cult tribe, similar to what the gorosei and holy knights use and Brooks music is said to manipulate and strike the soul! Music was used to summon and I think also seal the demon king of music in Film Red?
Kizaruber Eats
Kizaruber Eats
Tot Musica I mean! Uta had her own reality/dimension she manipulated with her powers, like a dream reality with a music theme, she was God in this reality and then when you factor in that One Piece well Imu especially is inspired by the story Where The Wild Things Are too, things get really interesting. Theres also that El Dorado story that One Piece is HEAVILY inspired by too!

Uta was putting people to sleep like
Kizaruber Eats
Kizaruber Eats
she had infinite tsukiyomi AND she wanted to create an ideal, perfect world where everyone would stop being pirates forever and she could be with them forever! Sound familiar?!

Oh man, the deja vu is insane right now! Thank you anyway btw!

Also bonus fact, Doc Q has the "plague fruit" or disease fruit or w/e and Egypt had the 10 plagues cursed upon it? And Arabasta is Egypt in One Piece...

Not to mention the
Kizaruber Eats
Kizaruber Eats
story of The Mummy films where the immortal high priest tried to reunite with the "reincarnation" of his dead lover, the mistress of the pharaoh at that!

"The Forbidden Love and Her Death: Imhotep was a high priest in ancient Egypt who engaged in a forbidden affair with Anck-su-namun, the pharaoh's mistress. When their relationship was discovered, they murdered the pharaoh. Anck-su-namun then took her own life,

believing Imhotep could resurrect her. He was mummified alive for it. When accidentally revived, he needed a preserved body to fully resurrect her. Evelyn, who awakened him with the Book of the Dead, became his target as that vessel – he didn't love her.

In the second film, Anck-su-namun is resurrected. Imhotep then seeks to defeat the Scorpion King for power and immortality for them both."

Im having my ADHD lots
Kizaruber Eats
Kizaruber Eats
of random ideas and inspirations again lol, I hope im making sense somehow here!

I've been hoping for more proper references to Egyptian Gods and lore in One Piece especially with how immensely important Alabasta and the Nefertari especially Lily and Vivi are ofc! Their family name makes me think of Queen Nefertiti IRL too!

We had the most discount Anubis and I think Horus with Chaka and Pell but I hope for
Kizaruber Eats
Kizaruber Eats
better than that especially with all this sun god stuff and thus Oda could tie into Ra then as well.

"In ancient Egyptian mythology, the sun was personified and worshipped through various deities, most prominently Ra, but also including Amun-Ra, Atum, and Aten. These gods represented different aspects of the sun, such as the rising sun, the midday sun, and the setting sun."

i read teh teory..it makes sense...maybe imu did switch personality with her..

Oh shit you're right ofc! I've been getting so confused on the name Nefertari so much, so there is a real Nefertari DAMN! That changes everything!

Aye, we've seen Law can swap personalities with his DF too, how convenient lol. I bet its not the only example of it in OP, especially with former users of his fruit too. We know DF effects can still apply after the users death, I think Moria mentioned it at Thriller
Kizaruber Eats
Kizaruber Eats
Bark but Boa definitely mentioned it vs Blackbeard too. How would she know unless shes just knows from her DF or are there statues of victims of precious Mero Mero fruit users out there too? Or was she just bluffing to Blackbeard?

But yeah anyway, we've got characters with multiple personalities like Cavendish which still isnt explained so far and also Pudding with her own split personality and not fully revealed

3rd eye powers too.

Its insane how little we actually still know about the lore and story of OP. It feels like we're still near the top of the iceberg (lol iceberg) rather than near the bottom of it as we should be by now!
