Off we row, off we row through any weather
Navigate storms 'till we find the treasure
Off we row, off we row through any weather
Navigate storms 'till we find the treasure
“Come, captain, we had no leadership worthy of the name then, and we faced the cleverest opponent, the heaviest armor, the strongest force of all. Yet we won by the inevitability of history.”
Off we row, off we row through any weather
Navigate storms 'till we find the treasure
Off we row, off we row through any weather
Navigate storms 'till we find the treasure
I was thinking about the bible parallels in one piece and I remembered, the name of Uta's song is New Genesis
Genesis is the first book in the Bible that explains the creation of the world, and the Bible ends with the earth and heaven passing away, and a new earth and new heaven being made, you could say, if you were to make parallels, a new genesis
There is or was someone with a profile picture of Greenbull with an irish hat and when I post sea shanties and irish songs he sometimes replies with something like "This be my jam" and with a gif of an irish Greenbull dancing, but I don't remember their name
Oh, there be flowers in Bermuda
Beauty lies on every hand
And there be laughter, ease and drink for every man
But there is no joy for me
For when we reached the wretched Nightingale
"Oh, Captain, are we all for drowning?"
Came the cry from all the crew
"The boats be smashed! How are we all then to be saved?
They are stove in through and through!"
"Oh, are ye brave and hardy collier-men
The Captain's gig still lies before ye whole and sound
It shall carry all o' we."
(Here we go!)
[Chorus]
He was the Captain of the Nightingale
Twenty-one days from Clyde in coal
So come all you fine young fellows
Who’ve been beaten to the ground
This western life’s no paradise
But it’s better than lying down
Oh the streets aren’t clean, and there’s nothing green
And the hills are dirty brown
But the government dole will rot your soul
Back there in your home town
