Nothing changed, not with the Gaban statements or the SBS. Oden was always a one year rental. Gaban > Oden is due to him having more in his arsenal, and the fact that Oden caps at Wano G4 Luffy.

Yeah but you can’t use the “Roger, Ray, and Gaban were way above the rest of the crew” statement to slander Oden anymore since Oda clearly doesn’t consider Oden a full-on Roger Pirate. Gaban may still be > Oden regardless, but people can still argue Oden ranging anywhere from between Roger and Ray to just a little below Gaban

True, but Oden is still capped at Wano Luffy lvl pre G5. Oda made that pretty clear imo. This will forever hold him back compared to characters like Ray and Gaban.

Luffy and Oden's defeat was paralleled and Kaidou also added Luffy to his top 5 list saying he had acknowledged him to be able to go toe to toe with him.

Kaido didn’t use Hybrid or drunken mode because Oda wanted to reveal that in the present. Simple as that. We basically just got the Sparknotes version of Kaido vs Oden, but the takeaway was still that Oden beat Kaido fair and square and only lost because of the hag deceiving and distracting him

Kaidou still put Luffy in his list though, that along with the defeat parallel tells me Luffy was operating at Oden lvl. Kaidou finally met someone on par with the monster Samurai once Luffy got a hold of his CoC coating. With G5, Kaidou met joyboy.

It's not G4 Luffy specifically, Kaidou acknowledged g2/3 Luffy with ACoC as someone who can TRULY go toe to toe with him. So it's pre G5 Luffy as a whole who cracks Kaidou's list.

Makes no sense considering that Kaido then went on to evenly clash with G4 Luffy. The powerscaling in Luffy vs Kaido was an incoherent mess because Oda wanted to gas up ACoC

@ZenZu Kaido didn't use hybrid nor drunken against Oden because he didn't have the chance. He was clapped already and laying on floor, it was game over before Kaido had the chance to pull his big moves. Oden was that lethal.
