I would like that. Could lead to more replayability. Also could add to more storytelling. Say the designated mage character gets different quests than the strength one.

Sekiro is my favorite from game, I wouldn’t at all mind a far more restricted yet focused game, Sekiro is just perfection.

@TheKnightOfTheSea exactly you could have alternating questlines depending on what class you play the game with
@Elder Lee Hung It doesn't have to be 1 or 0, we can have something with more playstyle variety than Sekiro but far less than Elden Ring

@TheKnightOfTheSea Nightreign is a ton of fun, because they limited the game to 8 characters with defined abilities instead of 466,000 like base Elden Ring, each build feels like it has its own unique identitty and play style. Somehow, some way, my two favorite characters are Raider and Duchess which are very different playstyles that both feel well realized.

Yeah Nightreign is the reason I think it could work, and we know Duskbloods is using a class system for PvP
I honestly think some level of class restriction could do wonders for a soulslike

imagine a souls-game with 4-6 characters you choose at the start, each with their unique quests, stories, and levels. could be great for stories too, getting to hear different sides of the same story from different groups

Imo one of the best parts of Nightreign is that each of the characters have their own agendas and they can impact the story in different ways, some of the characters like each other and others are enemies, I just wish they had expanded those relationships more.
