ZenZuI think Akainu is poised to be at the very least = to Prime Garp if not stronger. Akainu is the key to the middle generation imo. This is because I don't think Shanks is going to get a full out showcase. Nor do we have any point of comparison since neither will Roger. .
ZenZuIf Akainu goes all out and shows logia awakening ontop of high lvl haki, people will finally come around to the mid gen guys being very close to RogerBeard, because they will understand how much Akainu and the C3 held back in MF. It's because WB still felt larger than life, and people want to act like Akainu somehow got beat. But when he goes all out it will unlock this generation from old legend shackles.
ZenZuThis is because the C3 will be able to leech off him (extreme diff 10 day with Kuzan) and then people will start putting Shanks arguably above Roger too since an all out Akainu showcase will make it look extremely one sided against MF WB. It will trickle down to all mid gen top tiers.
ZenZuAnd since Shanks already has arguably the best portrayal from the mid gen it will naturally benefit him immensely. People will still try and maintain Shanks at the top of the gen (with Akainu or even above) depending on how he goes out. Akainu is the key to all of this.
GalaxyLevelShanksHonestly, as the days go on, mid gen > old gen takes have become the norm. It's similar to the "we done with the 90s" trend but more and more people are putting Shanks over roger, Mihawk over PWB and Akainu over Garp. The mystique that came with being PK is pretty much gone. ofc the general fanbase thinks the old gen clears but in powerscaling forums, it's 50-50 if not in the favour of the mid gen
ZenZuI still think RogerBeard have to be given the edge. I mean c'mon, these dudes had guys like Ray, Oden, Gaban under them. That's fucking retarded considering a high top tier from this gen (Kaidou) has ptsd from Oden. Ray is making Yonkou twerk, and Gaban as well. Roger had 2 underlings who could arguably defeat Yonkou. It's just nutty. And only an Old WB was portrayed as a peer to the other 3.
