What is important is not really if Shanks is grey or not (he is red), the important thing is what could happen with Luffy. Imagine, you are Shamrock and somehow.. you learned that Luffy, one of the Yonko of the sea with the Nika power, has a limitless respect for your young twin brother Shanks... What would you do?

I mean, we‘ve literally seen him freeing the slaves and ultimately being the Sun Pirates‘, Koala‘s and the Gorgon Sisters‘ savior, so how is he ever remotely evil lmfao. Even as a pirate his code is to protect the weak and those who have a harder time defending themselves. It feels like he’s ultimately following Dragon‘s will which is ironic given he doesn’t even know Dragon was the one who set him on his path.

@Flower There's also the fact that Oda seemed to deliberately have Dragon drop him on his head as a baby which was also done in Dragon Ball as a way to show why Goku is such a kind and innocent man while the rest of his family is more violent and pissy. I don't believe for a second that Oda won't do something similar with Shanks, Shamrock and Garling where Shanks is the only dude in his family to not be a scumbag.

Yeah. It also happened with Linlin when she became O-Lin for a while lol. Actually thinking about it now, maybe it’s possible Shanks knows now that Dragon was the one who saved him or was told about it when he arrived in MJ 🤔. Perhaps that’s why he decided to follow him and do Revo work? Also means that he might have come to Goa with the exact intend to find Luffy and protect him?

Granted the latter is possibly a bit of a stretch, but it’s funny if it was all just a coincidence. Luffy wasn’t really in any danger as long as Garp trained him to become a Navy soldier.

I meant that if Shamrock learns that Luffy admire Shanks, he will use it at his advantage. That's something Oda might have prepared from the very beginning. I always wondered how Oda would create conflict with Shanks (as I always believed that there would be a form of conflict) and I think Shamrock showing up as Shanks to Luffy is the PERFECT way to destroy Luffy from the inside and make him doubt.

Nah. Even when the guards talked about a guy looking like Shanks doing all that stuff Luffy didn’t believe that. He‘d punch Shamrock into the face for badmouthing Shanks tbh.

About Shanks, he grew with Roger, in a different environment than Shamrock, so of course he won't act evil. But there might be a form of grey zone were Shanks will have an attachment to his brother.
