@SethTrollins: fannon Sakura tends to be better executed than canon Sakura. They often start from the same core concept, but her character development is often swifter and more well rounded.

She usually gets a wake up call that make her start taking being a Shinobi more seriously as well. With a few changes, Sakura becomes a much better character.

@Marimo_420: I mostly read Itachi fics, but Sakura fans seem to love shipping her with Itachi, so filtering on fics that include Itachi bring a lot of Sakura fics. I usually avoid them, but some of the ones I've tried in the past are really good, and I gave this one a chance and it's been great.

(The ship doesn't appear to be an Itachi x Sakura fic, but just a Sakura fic in which Itachi might be an important character (? he hasn't shown up yet, but Sakura has been investigating him/trying to model her combat skill set after him, so his phantom is sort of a role model for her).

In my experience, when I let myself look past the Sakura hate boner, she can be a very compelling character if well executed.

Though TBF, I've read so much more fanfiction (I've read several 100K fanfics and probably > 10 million words total) than actual canon (2/3 - 3/4 of canon) that my opinions of certain characters are heavily influenced by fanon.

@Cinera I would say until Big Mom came, Oda was better than Kishi by a mile. Now I will have to wait till the end of Wano to reserve judgement- depending on what roles BM, the F6 females, and Robin play respectively.
Konan was in the background too much for my liking. Only time I believed she shined was when she get izanied and stabbed by Obito.

@Cinera only then did we learn of her own motivations and her own dreams. She became her own person who wasn't just blindly following Nagato or Yahiko.
Best written female by Kishi would have to be Temari. She was always a solid character, consistent protrayal and rank progression thorughtout and actually had decent interactions with her eos partner in Shikamaru. Athough even she faded to the background EOS.
