I was gonna say that Zod is more his own thing since he's a villain; but then again Homelander is considered a Supes knockoff and he's just a dickhead. So I see your point.

For me it's that it feels a bit like a parody trying to take itself too seriously, if that makes any sense. I get that it's a reconstruction of superhero tropes or whatever. Megamind legit had more of a superhero feel to me than Invincible did.
Been a long while since I read Invincible but iirc he did have hype moments and aura at least.
He's no Wakainu but he was pretty menacing.
