LogikoI was watching a dub reaction to skypiea and the dub translation says "nobody knows if the skyisland exists or not, I know only one man who claims to have seen it for himself and it's... noland"... when the right translation is rather "Well there was one man who said it did (exist)..."
LogikoThis slight difference instantly pushes the audience to associate the sky island to the island Noland was talking about (which sank) when in reality, in the context of the story here, the audience should simply think that Noland had knowledge about the skyisland. At this moment, Noland's island and Sky Island are supposed to be seen as two separate things... even if you can theorize something linking them
LogikoSo obviousely, the reactors made the direct link and predicted that it was the same island and that it got shot up in the sky. It's not bad per say, but the story is supposed to build up that theory and create a good revelation (even if you still suspect it). Instead, here, the translation kind of give it away too soon.
