I *used* to believe in a balance before Ulti almost forced Luffy to use G4. Now I don’t think anything balances out or matters besides captain strength.

Yeah I don’t think the Yonko and their crews are balanced or equal either. Oda plays heavy favourites. Would not be surprised if Jack > Katakuri tbh.

"Strength" in the OP Fandom often gets confused with "brute strength" but this is not how the term is utilized in manga. I personally don't see how Jack even pushes Dogtooth to high diff lol. Jack is a big slow tank, and Kuri will read him like a book and fill him with holes using Mogura.

Jack's durability, Haki, and reaction time are severely lacking as we saw when Shutenmaru sliced him up while Jack was staring right at him, and Jack seemed helpless to fight back. Katakuri would mid diff Shutenmaru pecimistically.

Oda’s power balance has never made that much sense. Marine HQ = Shichibukai (as said by Mihawk) but that isn’t remotely possible unless A) Mihawk smokes crack or B) is actually a god. There is just no way he can make up for how trash the other warlords are and solo carry that faction.

Basically I just treat Oda’s balance of power lore with a pinch of salt. It’s not perfectly balanced, not even close to slightly balanced either. Compare trash like Belo Betty to the YCs or even Drake or Ulti. Makes no fucking sense that they’re even mentioned in the throne wars at all.

Jack was knocked clean out cold by Zunisha lol. "surviving" Zunisha is not a feat, everybody survives everything in One Piece. Fact is, Jack could not react to someone who shouldn't even be close to YC1 level in strength.

I believe Hack with his fishman karate is the second strongest prior to Sabo eating the mera mera. He actually can use the same 5 thousand brick fist as Jimbei and had the strength to casually as fuck stop a gladiator's swing with his club by juut grabbing the spike, with the gladiator saying he couldn't move, plus he was tasked with going after the mera mera - not Scrabo. (nevermind me, go on with your discussion)

Wary enough of Wano to not attack it, which Ashura being strong enough to pressure Jack/Katakuri verifies.

Zunisha is the strongest attack we’ve seen and we have zero proof Jack was knocked out. He seemed fine and angry.

Really, Katakuri has a good gimmick but that’s about it. His power mochi on a large scale stalemated G3. His sticky mochi is situational. Mogura? Base Luffy had little issue with it lol.

As a fighter he leaves too much to be desired.

Even in terms of character, Katty barely edges out over Jack due to Jack’s lack of exposure

Katakuri is the most versatile fighter among high tiers. He leaves nothing to be desired and overall excels in every category, especially speed where no other high tier can match him.

Gear 3 did not match Power Mochi, Gear 3 stopped Power Mochi from it's "summoning" phase but Gear 3 is weaker than just base Haki Gear 3 from Katakuri, let alone Power Mochi lol.
