I'm still rather mixed on how Oda chose to reveal the story of Oden's past to the characters before the reader. I'm so emotionally disconnected from their sorrow. Even though I know what happens in the flashback, it still feels off. I think Oda set expectations too high because he chose to only show us everyone's strong reactions.
