But what allowed Zoro to cut Mr1 what Zoro had more control over in Alabasta was Ryou, which gives swordsman ability to "Cut everything and nothing", Zoro used Ryou to cut canon balls and he did it with finesse so they didn't explode on him, instead exploded away from him.
Other way would be brute force but with brute force canon balls maybe cut but they would explode on you and damage you

BOAT often gets confused with Ryou as both happened at the same time but I feel like Zoro was only able to unlock BOAT at the brink of death while Ryou, he actually learned

BOAT is Breath of all things, it is ability to hear breath of animate and inanimate objects due to which Zoro was dodging all the rocks and knew where his blade was. Seems like a very advanced form of CoO that Zoro has no mastery over
