I wanna start my Digital painting game, but sometimes I think it's too hard if you ain't already a good or decent enough artist (on paper, for example) ... were you experinced before buying your tablet?

I'm just a hobby artist who dislike their own art lol.
I drew a lot before yes.. but started digitally late.. and I'm a lazy one too.
I do my sketches still on paper. I have a better feeling and more controll over my hand like that. The most people sketching with their tablet but.. nah. Not mine tho.
I just can tell you what the most people will tell you about drawing: "practice."

@Calypso If you have good control using paper, then you could buy a matted screencover ... it's called paperlike screencover ... it gives you the same sensation as if you were drawing/writing on a paper ...
I plan to buy it for my college notes taking.

Medibang is a solid choice for a free program btw @Ali I'm currently using clip studio paint. Definitely start with medibang to get the basics of a drawing program. If you're buying an ipad consider procreate: it's $10 (last I recall) but people create some gorgeous drawings on it. I think it has some layer limitations though. But I'd still recommend medibang :D I'm so happy to see other artists here!!

Paint sai is from free too if you know where to get it 🤣 I've got clip studio too but I have problems to get into it :(

I've created my very first OC 2001... thanks to beyblade lmao 🤣🤣 I draw since then.. more or less. Sometimes I dont touch my pen for more then 3 months. And you? :3

I also got sai from a... source back in 2010 LOL
I've been doing digital since 2010 but I've drawn my entire life. Used photoshop for years until i switched to sai2, then medibang and finally clip. And yet through all this I still have so much difficulty finishing a painting xd

I started with the good old paint xD then gimp and now sai. I have always problems to get into new programs.. :(
I know that pain :") well I finish my stuff but in 98% I dislike the outcome.
