Definitely, I totally hated this moment when Naruto acted like Jesus to heal Gai. Other than that, his entire performance was top.

I used to talk to a massive, massive Gai/Lee fan. I hated the fact Gai survived too, but she was happy with it. Saying she'd rather not have Gai be a martyr for Naruto. And, I sort of agree. Might Dai's flashback stuff was great though.

Yeah. But the entire point o0f the 8th Gate was that it was supposed to be this massive sacrifice for ultimate power. A card you only pulled in desperation when everything else had been tried. A truly final gambit.

Naruto fucked that over. All Gai's words about protecting the next generation are now cheapened. Gai dying like that would have been more impactful IMO.

@Cinera it's like saying Zoro sacrifice loses/cheapened its value since he didn't die in TB.
Ofcrs the death would have been more impactful, but Gai Sensei did his part right. That what matters, he used the ultimate technique that would kill him for his comrades.

I don't really agree. Zoro's sacrifice on TB was never established to be certain death, and no one expected him to die. The 8th Gate has long been established to be certain death, and I expected Guy to die.
