Hmm... I guess what I did when I was feeling lonely was to reach out to old friends for catchups. I also used websites like MeetUp to find like-minded people and mingle at events with free food.
I teach English, which is sorta more like literature. The kids hate it and are miserable, I feel sorry for them sometimes lol.

I find that going out and meeting people irl is more fun and enjoyable in the long run. Give it a go! I have to use meetup since not a lot of people in my country like anime or Japanese things, have met some new friends over the last 6 months
