Very very strange... Oda is known for knowing beforehand events that are meant to occur several (many) years later in the manga. Is it possible that for once he introduced something that was inexistent at the time.

I think oda didn't have the full MArco power concept back at MF so I think this new ability is new too.
But in universe the thing that can explain a bit this moment is :
- For other his flames are not that good, so if you have a real bad injury his flames will heal a little but nothing amazing.
- Here Marco's goal was not to "heal" people it was to "burn" them. He didn't want to close wounds wide scale
