* Kaido acknowledges Zoro as being on par with Oden. Not just that Zoro has the potential to surpass Oden, but he recognises Zoro as the "monster samurai" of the likes of Oden he has been searching for.

Instead of a "you cannot do it" as he told the Scabbards, a "if it's you, it would be possible" or something along that vein.

I expect Zoro to go stronger during the fight, so if Kaido tells us Zoro is on par with Oden, then by the end of the fight, it becomes more likely Zoro has surpassed that level.

Big Mom telling Kaido that he greatly underestimated Zoro is making an explicit acknowledgement from Kaido seem more likely.

* Synergistic with the above point (as in, Kaido would need to recognise Zoro for this to be worth anything), is indication that Kaido is significantly stronger now than he was 20 years ago.

Ways this could happen:
- Kaido saying Zoro could have killed the him of back then
- Kaido revealing an even more powerful Hybrid form (to the best of our knowledge he never used such a form against Oden).

Oden told Kaido to build his strength, so a reference to that statement would further suggest that current Kaido is significantly stronger.

* Zoro killing (or otherwise soundly defeating) Kaido. While Oden only lost because of outside interference, taking Kaido's head or solidly defeating him was something that he was unable to accomplish.

Completing the task that Oden did not would suggest that Zoro has surpassed Oden.

Complicating the above is that Zoro is fighting Kaido (and Big Mom) in a team, so just killing Kaido may not be enough, because — as far as we know — Oden could have accomplished this feat as well.

Killing Kaido would more credibly indicate surpassing Oden if:
- Kaido is indicated to be stronger now
- The final confrontation with Kaido has less contribution from other parties

* Zoro turning Enma into a Black Blade.

Hitetsu suggested that blackening Enma was an accomplishment that was beyond Oden's ability. It's not just that Oden did not turn Enma black, it's that he *could not* turn Enma black. Blackening Enma was beyond Oden.

Succeeding at blackening Enma would be the most credible indication that Zoro has surpassed Oden.
