Same thing what I feel about Mihawk as a character. Not interesting and very boring. I feel like he's just there to train Zoro, and be defeated by him at the end of the series.

I have zero interest in Roger too. There's never been a hook to finding out more about him. I'm content with what we have and I know the longer we delve into his history, the more generic he'll become.

@TheAncientCenturion I just don’t see anything that interests me in his personality. He likes to drink, likes to party and is a violent asshole. That’s about it. Nothing we haven’t seen before. Roger is more interesting as a piece of world building lore than as a person imo.

Agreed @Den_Den_Mushi. My biggest worry with Roger getting more screen time is that Oda may try and push him as some perfect figure, making him far too close to Ace/Luffy instead of the generic pirate he seems to be already. I'm perfectly content for Roger to be the Jack Sparrow of One Piece and letting him exist only in 2/3 panels per arc. Same gripes I have with Shanks, tbh.

Roger both looks and acts like the stereotypical pirate which really doesn’t generate any interest. I do like that Shanks has something going on with the Gorosei though, at least that sets him apart from Roger and Luffy (for now) and demonstrates some potential for a darker side to Mr Perfect Protagonist
