I don't recall if this was anime only, but WB saw the lasers before they hit him and commented "so bright" or something similar. More generally, the lasers can be perceived before impact (which wouldn't be true for lightspeed lasers as the light from the lasers would arrive at the same time as the lasers themselves).

I think only Kizaru's travel speed under particular conditions is legit light speed

Didn't the databook confirm Kizaru having LS attack speed? Because I also remember that this feat wasn't accepted before that databook statement and yet, all of a sudden, they accepted it.

Well, to be fair, verses like Black Clover already have characters with FTL reactions... So it wouldn't be nonsense if OP high and top tiers have at least relativistic speed to keep up with Kizaru, even if he just travels with LS.
