Eh I’m on the fence about that. Her female persona is pretty useless and did some really baffling and illogical stuff like fucking around while Tama was kidnapped. As soon as it was revealed that she was born with a penis, her usefulness increased tenfold.

In terms of her being a real person and not a caricature like the Okamas, I suppose that is respectful representation but the bar is set incredibly low in that regard.

I don't disagree, but she wasn't particularly worse than other female characters in this aspect IMO.

Yeah but that’s kind of a problem though in terms of trans representation. There’s the implication that her feminine persona and by extension femininity is weakness. Also she blew her own cover the moment she sliced Urashima’s topknot but continued to act like an idiot after that.
