Why so low? What is he lacking for you?

He lacks a solid place in the story. A deep impact on the reader. Someone who really push the MC deep into the ground. Weight. Etc

When Shibashou and co will come we will forget him ASAP. And even more during Chou campaign.

How is story relevance related to strength? Kanmei doesn’t have any place in the story beyond the one arc he was in, yet he is still a top 3 warrior of all time. If you’re talking about how GHK is just a General inside of Kantan, it makes perfect sense for the Zhao to keep such a monster hidden in their capital rather than unleashing him across China.

Relevance inside arcs is often linked to strength.
Kanmei had a small place during Kankoku pass ? I don’t think so. He was Chu main commander (even if Karin stole the show after that). He pushed Moubu to extreme diff, push him enough to grow and be the new strongest man of China. You can’t compare Kanmei fight to GHKH fight, Moubu grew a lot from this fight.

I don’t think relevance within arcs has anything to do with individual combat strength. Hara could introduce the strongest dude in China and kill him off in the same chapter as far as I’m concerned lol.

But GHK is one of the vassal generals of Zhao’s guardian deity, he is one of the generals in charge of defending Kantan and all of Zhao in return, hyped as part of a deific elite army that defends the capital of the oldest state in China. I think that is massive hype for him.

I never said GHKH was weak, the guy is a powerhouse. We are after the middle of the story so we became greedy and we always want the best always. But a vassal with 92/93 in strength is insane. If GHKH is 92/87/85 its quite solid for a vassal and almost HK level.
But remember that Kochou is not Qin 6/ H3 level. Renpa/RSJ/Renpa and Ouki and co are better than him and had better vassals than him (for their main guy)

We don’t know how Kochou compares to the Zhao 3 honestly. In terms of open warfare, he could even be superior to Riboku (remember Riboku commented that Renpa was above him in open warfare, so there is room for Kochou to be above Riboku in just army vs army warfare).

I don't see Kochou above any H3/Q6, stat wise, hype wise, portrayal wise, and achievements wise.
Kochou is not a lot behind but behind. RSJ/Renpa/Riboku are above him. Those three are apex predators.
If I remembered well Kochou said that Riboku was more important than him.

Yeah but Riboku is above every other 3GH.

Ko Chou tore Yan up so badly that the citizens of Zhao used to sing songs about him. That is massive hype. No other Zhao General can boast the people literally singing songs of their greatness.

Renpa was Ouki rival, the living legend, the monster, the only one of his gen still alive. And RSJ was hyped beyond any measure during Zhao invasion. No way Kochou is above them.

And yeah Kochou is really good but not as good as them.

Kochou is just as old as Renpa, and was so great that the Zhao capital made him their personal guardian after he also became a legend among his people. All those years Renpa spent fighting Kochou and his aids spent training, and Gakuhaku Kou seems Heavenly King level to me at minimum. The guy brutally crushed multiple Qin armies including the Gyoku Hou which no other commander has done before.

You are mistaking notoriety for greatness. Nobody outside of Zhao had even heard of Riboku before he defeated Ouki. Then Riboku became a legend but he was completely unknown prior. Kochou is the same, a legend within Zhao simply because the Qin never faced him as he was busy annihilating Yan lol.

So you believe that Kochou is better than Renpa and RSJ ? We both know he isn't, i know you put the old H3 >.
I think even Shibashou can prove to be a bit better than him. Riboku took shelter in Seika knowing it was safe, and even pleaded for Shibashou to be a H3. I think SBS and Kochou would be close overall but I think SBS will prove to be a shade better.
SBS will be the main partner of Riboku

I can be wrong, but Kochou and SBS will fight for the 4th spot of Zhao best. (We will never see Chou Sha in action)

Riboku, RSJ, Renpa, Kochou and SBS vs Ousen Tou YTW Moubu and Kanki can be a dope war

Kochou stalled out Ousen, Kanki, and Yotanwa for a year straight, as well as Shin, Ouhon, and Mouten. That’s a feat on par with Renpa stalling out Ouki and Hakuki for two years straight. In an open war I’d favor Renpa probably but I feel he and Kochou are neck and neck.
