Nonetheless, I don't discount the possibility that 🥈 swordsman Roger had some ability to contend with Primebeard's Devil Fruit.

If he didn't, then he was simply not his equal.

The a manga states Whitebeard and Roger being equals with buggy and the narrator. And if you really want to go full agenda Roger had pirate aids when fighting Whitebeard and Whitebeard isn't even considered Roger's greatest foe it was Xebec

@U c 4 up da idly: I'll place Roger above Mihawk when it's revealed that he had something other than swordsmanship.

So far, he's just a 🥈 swordsman

Idk how you get that Roger is a silver medalist for something he never competed for and he achieved a greater achievement with his pirate king title. It's like saying Bolt is a silver medalist because he doesn't have the world record for 800m race

@U c 4 up da idly:

1. Roger is a swordsman.
2. Mihawk is not a pirate.
3. Mihawk did not compete for the WSS title. He became the actual strongest swordsman of his era.

If Roger was that strong during his own time, he would also have been recognised as the strongest swordsman of his era.

4. Pirate King is a more difficult achievement than "World's Strongest Swordsman" for reasons that have nothing to do with combat ability.

> Mihawk is not a pirate
He's a warlord which are pirates hired for the wg and has the marines chasing after him

@U c 4 up da idly: Mihawk's Vivre Card specifies that Mihawk becoming a Shichibukai was out of the norm, so that's a terrible argument.

It explicitly says that he became a Shichibukai despite not having a crew.

So again, there's no real suggestion that he's a pirate.

You don't have to have a crew to be considered a pirate. Mihawk even has a bounty on his head. What do you think he is a bandit?
