Akai2@Jew D. Boy First of all, I have no knowledge of this informer chat you speak of 😳😳😳
Akai2And for me, it wasn't WHAT happened rather HOW it happened. The conclusion was telegraphed from the get go. Actually, Michael Hall and Clyde Phillips admitting they messed up the original finale, made it logical for the sequel to end exactly how it did. So I was on board. And most of the season was really good. Just the last 2 episodes needed to be spread over a separate season.
Akai2I knew Harrison was the one to do it. But, everything from Harrison and Angela finding out, to Batista's involvement, to the hunt, to acceptance, to the last scene felt so unnatural. Just vacuous imo. Now, I get they did what they had to do with only 10 episodes. But I guess my expectation for a season 1 cliffhanger with a season 2 announcement set me up for disappointment.
Akai2TL;DR wish they explored every stage from them finding him out through the hunt through his death properly. Too rushed imo so it didn't satisfy me.
Jew D. BoyWell, fair, it was always kinda clear that Harrison would be his father’s undoing, but I gotta say that the way in which it happened still felt satisfying to me. I don’t think they accomplished everything they set out to do (I didn’t expect that whole “BIPOC women are being abducted and killed” plot line to pan out in a socially conscious way, but they dropped it even faster than I thought they would)…
Jew D. Boy…but the flaws that riddled the original series felt less prevalent, if only due to the change in cast and scenery. Getting Batista back just to have Dexter die before meeting him was asinine, that could have been a really fascinating reunion to watch, but I could easily see a season 2 that gives these loose ends time to breath and resolve better…
Jew D. Boy…for instance, Harrison (obviously assuming the mantle of main character) could wrestle with his own Dark Passenger (who naturally takes the form of dear old Dex) while exploring the country and dealing with the fallout of his father’s crimes becoming public, the citizens of Iron Lake might become distrustful of each other after discovering not one, but TWO major serial killers under their noses…
