it's not the resolution but the overall size of the gif :)
if the gif is too heavy the operation to compress it it's too heavy it will just convert it to a static image, idk what's the current limit cuz it can be set ( the lower the better ofc ) something below 2.5mb should work, it might also depend by the image processing service that's being used

yea but when it's a gif the resolution increases the size a lot ( i tried a 700 * 400 gif long ago and it worked but i managed to compress it down to 300kb xD )
