I'm worried because the economic sanctions are devastating the Russian economy. Economic hardship causes perhaps the greatest suffering.

I said that it's tone-deaf because Russia is the aggressor in the Ukraine conflict and is causing even more suffering to the people of Ukraine.

I don't know any Ukrainians though. And while I do feel sympathy for their plight, it's more distant since no one I cared for personally is affected.
