So everyone reiterates the same "Volo is the biggest back stabber in the pokemon franchise" while I'm over here listening the how perfectly this soundtrack fits the stakes of the world at this point, Volo is LITERALLY a threat to this whole universe, so much so that God itself had to do something without presenting itself because arceus vs giritina would be world ending on its own.

There is a mysterious hiker in Pokemon Platinum that talks about myths of Sinnoh like Arceus and the plates. There is some Japanese fans theorize that it is Volo.
In Platinum, there is a small in-game event that is unlocked. This, however, cannot be done through normal gameplay. To activate this event, a special event Arceus was distributed during the 12th Pokémon film.

You first encounter this hiker in Oreburgh Mine after obtained Arceus. He explains that there is a legend in Sinnoh about how the world created. He then leaves after handing you a Flame Plate. He reappears at the Canalave Library, where he discusses the creation of the world and specifically mentions "Arceus" by its name. He appears to be the only NPC in Pokémon modern Sinnoh games who calls Arceus by its name,
